Why an app password instead of my normal password?
Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, QQ, 163 and others don't let other apps use your normal password. An app password works only for email, only for Aston Link, and you can delete it at any time without changing your normal password. Once Google has reviewed our app, Gmail will connect with one click instead.
Is it safe?
Passwords and sign-in tokens are encrypted before they are stored, and are never shown again, not even to us. Aston Link only reads your mailbox to find replies to the emails it sent (read-only: nothing is moved, deleted or marked as read), and it sends only the emails you approve.
How do I disconnect?
In Aston Link: Settings › Sending (or My account › My sending mailbox) → Disconnect. The stored password or token is deleted at once. You can also delete the app password at your provider, or remove Aston Link from the apps allowed on your Microsoft or Google account. When someone leaves your team, their mailbox connection is deleted too.
Why is there a daily limit?
Free personal mailboxes (Gmail, Outlook.com / Hotmail, Yahoo, iCloud, QQ, 163…) are made for personal mail, and their providers block accounts that suddenly send many business emails. So a personal address starts at 20 emails a day. After 14 days of healthy sending (few bounces, no spam complaints) Aston Link tells you in the app and by email, and you raise it with one click in Settings › Sending: to 30, then 40, then at most 50 a day, one step every 14 days. If bounces or spam complaints rise, the limit goes down again by itself and we tell you why. A mailbox on your own company domain keeps its own schedule, can send more, and looks more professional.
Which mailboxes work?
Gmail, Google Workspace, Outlook.com / Hotmail, Microsoft 365, Yahoo, iCloud, AOL, QQ, 163 / 126, Zoho, Fastmail and any company mailbox that allows IMAP and SMTP (GoDaddy, Namecheap, cPanel hosting and most others). Proton Mail can't be connected.
